I Guess You Guys Didn't Like It...

I guess you-my dear devoted, loving readers- didn't enjoy my video.  I only got NINE pageviews.  I usually get at least twenty.  That hurt.  I thought for certain that you all would enjoy it, but alas twas not to be.  I'll never do it, EVER.  Never ever ever.  Not in a million years will I make you all another video.  Even when I thought I was hilarious. Hmph.  I must give the people what they want right?  That's democracy for you.
I hate politics so lets take a different turn in the conversation.
I would like to hear from you.  Tell me what you think-not politics related-, I suggest you take this chance because usually I'm not open for it.  I don't even reply to comments.  Not that I don't LOVE getting comments.  I do, I really really do enjoy getting comments.  I usually just don't know what to say in reply.

I can't believe I didn't even get one comment on my video. Sigh.

  1. I usually have a comment - too many comments - but that video, I just didn't know what to say. I didn't watch the whole thing so I didn't say anything. In other news - nothing exciting happening here. I am reading a good book, "Napoleon's Pyramids". Seems to be a historical fiction.

  2. You never know exactly what your readers are doing when you post. From waking up Friday morning at 5:30 from a nightmare involving a rampaging zombie grizzly bear to now I've had a series of events that now have me listening to "Let It Be" on repeat with thoughts of throwing my diploma out the window. Maybe a lot of your readers had similar unforeseen events, though I do hope theirs were all good unforeseen events! Plus with a different sort of post than your normal ones it can mess up people's approach to reading and commenting. Say if someone reads your blog at work when they can't watch a video, or has a ten minute period the read and comment. Stuff like that.

I def. hope you will do another video in the future. I liked it, and your mask. I think a lot of people are willing to put Shakespeare on a pedestal and not discuss some of the bad points like you did, and it was awesome.

I apologize for the epic length of this comment.

    1. Don't worry, the length of your comment was nothing in comparison to the length of my video.

I hope all turns out well for you!

  3. I was surprised when you wrote about never doing another video. My goodnes, that was your first video. Don't make judgements on just one. This is a busy time of year for a lot of people. And so what if only 8 people watched the video. Next time it may be 15 and the next 25. All that matters is that you enjoyed making it and we enjoy YOU!

  4. Epically busy certainly describes my week.... so I went back to watch... wow. First, Do you blog for you or for others? That should determine content. If for you, and you enjoyed making the video, ignore stats and make more. If for others, well, then tailor your content. Second, R & J... not my fav either (Dream is also mine) but neither do I hate it. It simply must be read in the political climate it was written, and understood as a caricature of life. It had a message. It also tried to be entertaining to the populace of the court of Elizabeth. Death was an everyday thing then, and probably not considered so totally out of the realm of reality....still, a caricature though. To get a point across. They were stupid though, there were lots easier ways to achieve the same goal.... to our modern eyes. Maybe not to the 16th century teen though, I don't know. They were pretty well controlled, maybe S was playing on that and went too far. We do know he was commenting on several issues, I just can't remember what the whole package was. Still and all, not my favorite one either.... though I LOVED the costuming in the Zefferelli production!

  5. On a different note, I just cooked a dinner inspired by The Hunger Games..... very yummy. I have been sewing quilts based on books this year, and thought cooking was a good extension of that.... sort of trying to extend the experience. Dorky? Maybe. Fun though.

  6. Ahh, Longstory. I was one of the 8, though I will admit I didn't make it through the whole thing. There are a lot of reasons, one of which was that I only have a limited amount of time for checking email & reading blogs, and a 10 minute video doesn't fit well. I think you have great video potential (I too loved your mask). Perhaps as you get started doing videos, it might be best to keep it short & sweet & to the point, until your watchers figure out your personality & your "angle" on whatever you're doing videos about. This is an extension of your essay writing-Figure out what you want to say, then figure out how to say it in 180 seconds or less. :)
I also agree with a previous commentor....Who/why are you doing this blog? For you, or for page views? Your approach will be necessarily different depending on your answer.

  7. I have a very slow dial-up connection. I did bookmark your video post so I could come back to watch it when I have enough time to wait for it to download.

Don't be discouraged...I hope to watch it soon...and hopefully others will too.
