I have come to the absolute conclusion that all biographies are dry. I don't care if I haven't read every biography in the world, they are all boring. Every single one of them. I don't care how close minded that sounds, it's my opinion. I read George W. Bush's biography- I know, I know- and let me tell you, that was one of the most boring things I have EVER read.
I've even read a biography on a fictional World of Warcraft character- STILL unbelievably dry and boring.
And yes I'm aware that only two biographies should turn me off of them forever, buuut they have. So. Boring. Dry. Boring. Dry. Boring. Dry. Someone dies and I cry. Repeat.
I HATE BIOGRAPHIES.
Occasionally, one might find an interesting biography, but it is still very limited. If I read a biography about some established person, then sometimes I'll cut straight to the parts about their achievements.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, what you say has proven true many times for me as well. I want to learn about people that inspire me, but then I pick up a biography of them and I can't even get past the first ten pages without a yawn and then the book is set down - never to be read again.
